Making Of Ill Manors from the DVD extras

What does this tell us about Plan B's intentions in making the film?

This shows that Ben Drew wanted to make a film about the other side of London in comparison to the business side which is all about top end schools and hotels and being one of the best cities in the world. But in actually London is a mixture of that and people who are less fortune to be born with parents that don't care about them. Ben Drew's intention is to make a film about the real problems that are around in London that need to be address.

What do we learn about the production process for Ill Manors?

We learn that Ben Drew personally works on the post production work of Ill Manors himself because he is highly motivated to make sure that the film is a success and that it provides the message that he wants to send so that the message gets lost in context of the film. Also we find out how motivated Ben Drew is because he stated multiple times that he has slept in his office where he has been editing the film as well.

What can you tell about the possible target audience from this short documentary?

SBTV are a YouTube Channel and they have a massive audience with over 500,000 subscribers and that's just only the music channel and their audience is dominated by the teenagers and younger adults and Plan B's rap music is focused on teenagers which he mentions in his Tedx Lecture and how he wants to be a father figure to the misguided teenagers to Fans of Plan B who are teenagers and the SBTV Audience are teenagers and younger adults so it would be those demographics that would be interested in the mini documentary also people that generally care about young people and their issue in today's society and how they are represented in the media would also be interested in the mini documentary because he's someone who has lived in the society that he is trying to represent and if he portrays it correctly more and more people will be aware of the problems that young people are facing that are not fortunate of having a happy family background.

Does the film successfully do what director Ben Drew (Plan B) set out to achieve? Explain your answer with reference to both the film and the making of documentary.

Ben Drew is represented in the mini documentary as someone who isn't aware of all of the media terms about how to direct probably in comparison to a trained  director which was one of his main problems in making the film in the first place however Ben Drew directing the film is a unique selling point because at the time the Ill Manors soundtrack came out and after that everyone wanted to fund Ill Manors the movie but they were too late and they were already in production.
